Inherently,
most of us feel comfort foods like soup are plain and simply good for
us; when most prepared varieties today are just the opposite.
This is because the focus is solely on making a quick sale based
on minimal consumer knowledge.
Most
soup manufacturers today use the lowest quality ingredients they can
purchase to lower ingredient costs. They then add unnatural
ingredients, i.e. 1) salt
and/or 2)
fat,
to
make up for the lack of true flavor or nutrition. Also, "enhancer" chemicals
may be
included to alter the natural color, (i.e. the same chemical
as in paints), or to change the texture, or add to the shelf life!
Soluppa
uses only all natural ingredients with a
"once its in, it
can't be taken out"
axiom. We start each recipe with the soups basic
nutritional goodness. The consumer should be the final
decider in adding additional flavors and spices as they desire.......nothing more.
